“A number of fixes” for ambitious PS3-exclusive online-only FPS MAG are “in the pipe”, the developer Zipper Interactive has revealed.
Speaking in an interview with Joystiq, producer Alan Van Slyke said the developer intends to address balance issues some fans have complained about since the game’s January release.
He said: “It’s something we’re definitely aware of, and we’ve already got a number of fixes in the pipe. We’re definitely committed to making sure all the maps, factions and gear is perfectly balanced.”
Van Slyke also revealed Zipper’s intention to treat MAG like a platform, adding things like new gametypes.
“We made a big investment, we had a lot of learning, we built a lot of tech, and we have this awesome multiplayer platform that we can build upon and add new gametypes to,” he said.
“The possibilities are endless for us, and in many ways, even though we just released the game, looking forward for us is super exciting, knowing what we can do with the engine we have today.”
MAG didn’t quite set the world on fire for us, but we thought, with the right patches, it could be great. Looks like Zipper’s listening.
