Mafia 3 was last updated back in December, and it seems the update’s implementation of PS4 Pro support went totally unnoticed.
Digital Foundry has picked up on the Pro support and offered its findings over on Eurogamer. The major changes are a bump in resolution to 1440p, along with improved shadows and motion blur. Whilst the game generally runs at a solid 30fps, it can drop down to around 26fps during intense moments. Sadly the pre-rendered cinematics have not been redone, meaning you get a noticeable change when they kick in.
All this is offered downsampled to 1080p for Pro users on a non-4K tv.
Regular PS4 users also get the benefit of fixed framepacing.
