Perp Games and Bloodious Games have announced that first-person psychological horror MADiSON will launch on June 24, 2022.

The game kicks off with you in control of Luca. He wakes up in a dark room, covered in blood in the midst of a dark ritual involving his family. It turns out he’s not entirely been in control of his own actions, and has been possessed by a ghost called MADiSON who’s been forcing people to commit unspeakable acts. Of course, this isn’t the most desirable, so it’s up to you to figure out how to free Luca from his tormentor.

Along the way Luca will meet a host of characters all haunted by the evil spirit. You’ll have to use a possessed instant camera to solve puzzles and to survive the many situations you’ll encounter. Said camera will be a key component of the game, and you’ll also have to develop the pictures manually. Cue some tension building set pieces as you shake the photos as they slowly develop to reveal clues and answers while avoiding MADiSON’s wrath.

The game’s development team promises “disturbing gameplay” and an “unsettling and compelling” narrative to boot. The game also promises randomly activated events and changing puzzles to keep you on your toes. You can check out a trailer for the game for yourself down below.

MADiSON arrives on June 24, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and ‘Next-Gen consoles’ – we’re not sure why Xbox isn’t mentioned by name, but their logo is in the trailer. It’ll also be available on the Nintendo Switch “a little later in the Summer”.
