EA will not be releasing a Madden NFL 15 demo ahead of the game’s official launch, the first time the series’ annual release has lacked an early sample in a decade.

Fans who want to get their hands on the game early will only be able to do so through EA Access, the newly-launched subscription platform which grants full-game access to new titles ahead of the retail release.

“The difficult decision not to do a demo for Madden was strictly a result of the team’s commitment to deliver the highest quality game possible,” EA said in a statement to IGN. “We chose to put 100 per cent of our development resources toward the full game.”

Madden NFL 15 launches August 29 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
