Numerous job postings suggest that the George Lucas enabling LucasArts is beginning work on an unannounced first-person shooter for current and next-generation platforms.

The most information, as spotted by MCV, comes from the Senior Core Engineer position, whose responsibilities will include “implementing cutting edge features and optimizations on current and Future Generation console and PC hardware” and also coaching less experienced members of staff. Go team!

The other positions up for grabs are Senior AI Engineer, Senior Animator, and Gameplay Engineer, with the latter requiring proficiency in Unreal Engine 3.

The successful candidates will be working out of a LucasArts studio in San Francisco.

What kind of Star Wars FPS magic will the people who get these jobs create, and will they patch it six months down the line so if you pick Han Solo you can only fire after you’ve already been shot at?
