Lost Planet 2 demo coming ’round about E3 time’

Jun Takeuchi, producer of the upcoming third-person sci-fi shooter Lost Planet 2, has confirmed plans to release a demo “round about E3 time”.

E3, the US game show, runs in the first week of June, which means at best just over a month wait.

Speaking last week during a presentation of the game at Captivate 09, Capcom’s showcase event, Takeuchi, who also produced Resident Evil 5, said: “One of things that really helped Lost Planet 1 were the downloadable demos that were available for users to play. We’re hoping to have a demo available for regular users to play round about E3 time. That’s what we’re thinking.”

Capcom caused a degree of controversy when it announced Lost Planet 2 in February. The game is currently down for release only on the Xbox 360, although the company has been careful to avoid using the term “exclusive” when describing it.

Takeuchi didn’t detail what platform the demo would be on, but to say it’ll be released on Xbox LIVE Marketplace seems a safe bet.
