Lords of the Fallen has shipped 700,000 copies to retailers but only sold 200,000 through to consumers, executive producer Tomasz Gop has revealed to Eurogamer.

Despite selling less than 30 per cent of its inventory, however, the action-RPG has already achieved profitability. According to Gop, Lords of the Fallen only needed to ship 500,000 copies to make back its 42m Polish zloty (~£7.8m) budget.

Lords of the Fallen released on PS4, Xbox One and PC last month with a new expansion coming later this year. The DLC will see hero Harkyn return to fight a magical Lord and explore a new puzzle-based location.
