The latest expansion for Lord of the Rings Online, Riders of Rohan, will be launched this Fall according to Warner Bros. Interactive.

In Riders of Rohan, users will join together to ride into the Plains of Rohan, giving them further areas to explore including Amon Hen and Fangorn Forest.

Additionally, the expansion will feature an increase in level cap and the long-awaited mounted combat system.

Rohan is said to be twice the size of the recent Rise of Isengard expansion and will include the largest number of new game systems and technology since the Mines of Moria expansion in 2008.

Recently the game met with controversy after it was announced its cash shop would feature stat-based items for low level users, potentially creating a “pay-to-win” scenario for the MMO.

Since then it’s been acknowledged by the firm Turbine, who has stated the cash shop will never include high-level items or raid gear.
