The announcement comes via Famitsu (translated by IGN), and the magazine also includes a short preview of the title. We can expect some updated visuals and new modes of play, such as Puzzle mode which removes enemies and the time limit from the game.
Lode Runner for the DS will also include the likes of Championship Lode Runner, as well as other Lode Runner games. Early screens seem to point towards the action taking place on the touch screen, with a full overview of the level being placed on the top screen. Quite how touch screen control will be utilised, if at all, remains to be seen.
You can check out a few screens over on the game’s Japanese website.
