When it comes to football management games, fans always want the latest stats and transfer dealings implemented, especially when it involves ‘their’ team. So, in a bid to keep LMA Manager 2005 fresh, Codemasters has been working on updating all the stats and implementing all of January’s transfer shenanigans.

The update is available for download over Xbox Live and Playstation 2 Net, for a price. Yes, for the princely sum of £3 you can ensure that Morientes is now at Liverpool, that Mido is at Spurs, and all other squads are nicely up-to-date, and players that have been deemed to have improved markedly since the game launched (i.e. Andy Johnson at Crystal Palace, or Dean Ashton now of Norwich) have had their stats improved. Applying the update is easily done through the menu in-game, so it should be as painless as possible.

Alternatively, if you are not PS2 online-enabled, then you will be able to buy an updated retail-version (suitably marked ‘Stats Update’ on the cover), to be launched on March 25th. No such enhanced-version has been announced for the Xbox, however.
