British studio The Chinese Room has announced its newest game, Little Orpheus, will arrive on consoles and PC in March.

The adventure is set in 1962, around the time NASA is trying to put a man on the moon. However, you’re playing as cosmonaut Ivan Ivanovich, who’s instead sent on a mission to explore the centre of the Earth. So begins a three year adventure, where you’ll explore undersea kingdoms, prehistoric jungles and more.

Little Orpheus originally launched exclusively on Apple Arcade back in the summer of 2020. Of course, the Chinese Room has given the game a visual polish for the home release. The Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture developers cite a number of classic adventure movies as inspiration including Flash Gordon and The Land That Time Forgot.

Our Josh actually reviewed the game back at the time of its original release. “So it is that the best moments in Little Orpheus, in lockstep with a linear story, are synchronised with the act of moving. One scene has Privalov pursued by a giant worm, its lunging bites timed with Yurkovoi’s barking inquiries. Another sees you sneak by a T. Rex, disguised as an egg, each step punctuated with a plucked string.”

You can check out a trailer for the game’s PC and console release below. Little Orpheus lands on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC on March 1.
