Further update, August 21: It now looks like the console, which is exclusive to Argos and Sainsbury’s in the UK, actually costs £349.99. It’s still priced as £399.99 on the Xbox website but when you add it to your cart it drops to £350, so we can assume it’s an error.

Update, August 21: The official Xbox.com page for the console is up, confirming the contents of the bundle, that the console is a 1TB one, and that it costs £399.99. It comes with a vertical stand so you can display it grass up.

Further critical information is that the Minecraft pig controller, sold separately for £64.99, has a tiny piggy tail on the back.

Original story, August 20: Microsoft has announced a limited edition Minecraft Xbox One S bundle and, surprisingly for a limited edition console, it’s not terrible looking! Though nothing could be worse than the Gears of War one. That red one. Remember that?

The console itself is styled to look like a grass block from the game on the front/top, and the back/bottom is inspired by redstone. It also makes nice Minecraft noises when you turn it off and on and whatnot.

This is actually a good look for the Xbox, probably because a square box is a pretty good thing to dress up like a block from a game of blocks.

The console comes as part of a bundle with a controller modelled after a creeper, and a copy of the game. There’s another limited edition console with a skin like a Minecraft pig, but that’s extra.

This special edition is out on October 3.
