Square Enix has released some new media for Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Along with some new screens, there’s also a new gameplay video which shows more of the game’s story and how the protagonist, the 16 year old Chloe Price, is struggling to deal with the death of her father and the changes that have followed, as is signified by her attitude towards her mother’s boyfriend.

Players return to familiar setting of Arcadia Bay, and the new gameplay video shows a hungover Chloe Price still in mourning over the death of her father, while also trying to get used to the unwelcomed entry of a new father figure, the condescending David. The scene — which has been taken from a much longer sequence in game — unveils Chloe’s house for the first time in Before the Storm and provides fans a glimpse at Chloe and David’s turbulent relationship.

The first of three episodes of Life is Strange: Before the Storm is titled ‘Awake’ and will release on August 31 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
