In a surprise announcement by Take-Two CEO Paul Eibler it has been revealed that GTA: Liberty City Stories will be ported to the PlayStation 2. The news came during a conference call following the company’s earnings report. No details on the port have been revealed, but the game is due to arrive on the PlayStation 2 before April 30 2006.
In further GTA news, Take-Two also stated that the next GTA game on the PSP will be an all-new property. This ends doubt (if there was any) that the PSP would receive a port of an existing GTA game. However, just as Liberty City Stories shares the same city as that of GTA III, the game may well use a location fans of the series have already played in.
