Lego Star Wars has dethroned Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition. The car customising racer had its moment of glory, but the kid (and adult) friendly Star Wars game now sits proudly at the top of the chart. With the Episode III videogame due out very soon and the buzz surrounding the movie reaching fever pitch, expect to see Star Wars titles dominating the charts for the next few weeks.

This week’s chart isn’t exactly flush with new entries, but there are a number of surprises. TT Superbikes from Jester is the week’s highest new entry, charting at a very respectable No. 5. Guild Wars (No. 8) on the PC is the only other new release to enter the top 20, with StarFox: Assault making No. 21, Close Combat: First to Fight making No. 24 and Empire Earth 2 debuting at No. 26.

No doubt helped by the World Snooker championship that concluded this bank holiday weekend, SEGA’s World Snooker Championship 2005 moved up two places to No. 06. There really is no better console snooker sim available.

Next week appears to be a little quiet, with the only notable releases being Yoshi’s Touch and Go on the Nintendo DS and Enthusia Professional Racing on the PlayStation 2. DS owners desperate for something new to play may find something to enjoy in Yoshi, but I expect it’ll have as many lovers as haters. Enthusia, on the other hand, has an uphill struggle ahead of it. GT4 on the PlayStation 2 has the car sim market sewn up and Forza – which has been receiving rave reviews in the US – is due out for the Xbox in the next few weeks.
