Speaking to VideoGamer.com at an event in London earlier today, Spark Unlimited CEO Craig Allen has confirmed plans for a demo of Legendary. Due for release in Q3 2008, the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC FPS with a focus on mythical creatures is the second next-gen effort from the developer, having previously worked on Turning Point for Codemasters.

“There will be a demo. Usually demos seem to be timed about a month before launch. We’re a Q3 2008 project, so probably around July or August you’ll probably see a demo,” said Allen.

When asked if the demo will hit all platforms Allen said: “We work with the publisher. We as a publisher can certainly support demos on all platforms, but we leave it to them to tell us what demos they need.”

At the event it was made clear that the Xbox 360 is the lead platform for development, but that doesn’t mean Spark Unlimited will deliver inferior games on the other platforms.

“We’ll certainly have some adjustments graphically to take advantage of the different systems,” said Allen. “We’re using Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 as our base engine, so the content will be similar on the PC, 360 and PS3, but we will do certain optimisations, specially with texture memory and some of the ways the game handles the resources and the assets, to be able to maximise the experience on each platform. There won’t be content differences.”
