NCsoft has announced the release of Kamael, the newest expansion to Lineage II. It’s free to all current Lineage II subscribers and features a new playable race called the Kamael, one-winged soldiers with dark magic. The goal of the Kamael Warrior is to earn a second wing and reach the powerful “final form”.

Also new are clan-based daily fortress battles. These are smaller in scale to the castle sieges and allow smaller clans to gain a foothold on territory.

There’s also specific content to veteran and new players. Highlights for veterans include the Hellbound and Isle of Prayer lands for players above level 70. Coming soon is the ability to transfer your character to a different server, change your player name and if you want, its gender.

New players can now look forward to new items and enhancements designed to aid the solo play experience at lower levels, with the hope of making the game more accessible.

Other additional features include a set of instanced dungeons, new weapons and armour, plus the launch of the new record and replay system, enabling players to speed up or slow down footage of captured battles.

The Kamael update will automatically update for all existing players.
