The game has only just hit stores, but early sales have been strong enough for publisher Take-Two to be talking up a very strong future for Rockstar Games’ LA Noire.
Speaking during an overnight earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, said that LA Noire has had an “exceedingly strong” reception at retail.
He added: “We have every reason to believe that LA Noire is another strong franchise for this company. We do see this as a powerful new franchise.”
Given it’s only days after LA Noir’s release it’s no surprise we haven’t heard anything official relating to a sequel, but developer Team Bondi has gone on record to say a shorter dev cycle would be possible for an LA Noire sequel.
LA Noire talk followed news that Take-Two had extended employment agreements with key Rockstar members.
Franchising LA Noire looked a certainty after it set a first-week sales record for a new IP in the UK and notched up a string of impressive review score – including 10/10 here at VideoGamer.com. Check the LA Noire review to see why Neon believed it was worth top marks.
