Konami has revealed that it is still working on improvements for PES 2008 following the recent update for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

Yesterday Konami made available the long awaited update for PES 2008 on PS3 and Xbox 360 – with mixed results.

PES 2008 on PS3 is blighted with frame rate problems, slowdown issues and laggy online play. The 360 version is better, but has so far suffered from similar online problems.

However, despite the excitement and anticipation surrounding the updates it appears they are only mildly successful. Console owners are reporting that while the patches do improve matters online somewhat, there is still warping, teleporting and lag, despite the updates.

In an update on its website today Konami explained that the patch “addresses the online lag and the slowdown that affects the game in both online and offline modes”.

It added that the PS3 update “also fixes problems associated with downloading the game to the console’s hard drive”.
