Konami has announced the release of Metal Gear Solid: Piece Walker, a free to play online puzzle game, designed to tide Snake fans over until the release of MGS: Peace Walker for PSP.

The isometric puzzle game challenges players to place a series of jigsaw pieces into a picture grid. Points are awarded by placing the coloured blocks correctly, and players can compete with rival puzzlers from all over the globe via its multiplayer options.

The game is currently available in both Japanese and English language. A constant stream of new levels are promised over the coming months.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is scheduled for release on May 28, 2010.
