Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro still have plans to work together on a new project, despite the cancellation of Silent Hills.

Speaking with IGN, Del Toro explained that he enjoys working with Kojima and that the two are “still in touch”.

“We are still friends and working into doing something together,” he said, “but that’s not going to be [Silent Hills].”

Konami confirmed that Silent Hills had been cancelled earlier this year, but suggested that it was still talking to Kojima and Del Toro about their involvement in a future project. The publisher has yet to announce a new Silent Hill title in its place.

The game’s cancellation followed allegations of a dispute between Konami and Kojima, and the removal of PT from the PlayStation Store.

“We were in the planning stages, and it’s a shame it’s not going to happen,” Del Toro continued. “We were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head.”
