Funcom, the developer of Conan Exiles, has announced that it’s partnering with Koch Media in a global co-publishing partnership for its open-world survival game. Koch Media will now handle all publishing activity for the game’s physical release worldwide. This isn’t the first time the two have partnered for a game’s release, with Koch Media publishing the Age of Conan MMO back in 2008.

Naturally Funcom are delighted at the news of this partnership and its CEO, Rui Casais, said that ‘The fact that they know and understand Conan is also a huge benefit that will ensure all aspects of publishing the game will be executed in the true spirit of the Conan the Barbarian brand’.

Koch Media and Deep Silver CEO, Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, has also commented on the announcement, saying that, ‘We are delighted to revive our successful cooperation with Funcom which we established during the work for Age of Conan: Rise of the Godslayer’. There were hugs exchanged and I think Funcom even gave Koch Media its last Rolo, though this cannot be verified just yet.

Conan Exiles is an open-world survival game where the player has to survive in the prehistoric Conan: The Barbarian world. Players begin the game having been convicted of various crimes and sentenced to death by crucifixion, which is a staple for the Conan movies and comics. Having being rescued by Conan himself, the player must now make their way across the world and get justice, or something I suppose.

Conan Exiles is currently in early access for PC and Xbox One, it’s due to release fully in early 2018 with a PS4 release. Â
