Kirby’s Epic Yarn, the Wii exclusive platformer from Nintendo, will be released across Europe on February 25, 2011.

Already available in North America, and met with great reviews, Epic Yarn requires players to help Kirby battle enemies, jump over obstacles and transform himself into an array of new forms, such as a dolphin, a UFO, a steam train or a giant robot.

Yin-Yarn has wreaked havoc by breaking Patch Land into pieces. Kirby, joined by the plucky Prince Fluff, has to track down strands of magic thread to sew Patch Land back together.

Epic Yarn was released back in October in North America and Japan. Five months will have passed by the time the game finally arrives in European stores, which is the kind of delay gamers grew used to generations ago, but nowadays worldwide launches no more than a few days apart are much more commonplace.

Despite our disappointment at the long wait, it’s a wait that looks well worth persevering with. After all, this is the first home console Kirby title since Kirby Air Ride was released on GameCube in 2003.
