The heavily rumoured Gears of War Kinect title is real, according to Kotaku sources claiming to be familiar with the project.

An early demo version of the on-rails shooter apparently used assets and events from Gears of War 2. However, the game elements may have changed since the early concept demo was created.

There’s no word on how the game will control, although a source did say that movement would be handled by the game and not the player.

Back in November 2010 it was reported that Epic would show off the Kinect Gears of War title at the VGAs the following month. However, a planned appearance was cancelled at the last minute.

Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski has ruled out Kinect-enabled chainsaws in Gears of War 3, but earlier this year an Epic Games trademark for Gears of War: Exile was discovered, further fuelling rumours of a Kinect Gears of War game.
