Guerrilla isn’t about to announce a new Killzone game, the developer has clarified, after an update on Twitter last night sparked rumours of an imminent announcement.

Instead, the tweet, which featured the word “soon” and an image of a Helghast soldier, was simply teasing a double Valor event coming to Killzone: Shadow Fall this weekend.

Oh.

Killzone tease

“Just to be clear, this weekend will be a double Valor weekend,” Guerrilla clarified. “This weekend you will be receiving Double Valor when playing Killzone online.”

“Wasn’t it obvious if you looked at the Helghast his eyes,” the developer added, “they were filled with Valor.”

Guerrilla has yet to announce plans for the future of Killzone, although job ads posted by Sony last summer suggested that a new title could be in development at sister studio Guerrilla Cambridge.
