Killzone: Shadow Fall Intercept, a four-player cooperative game mode created for the PS4 launch title, is now available as a standalone download, Sony has announced.

Priced £15.99, PS4 gamers can compete in the new mode without already owning the core game. The mode was initially offered as DLC back in June.

Intercept sees up to four team mates fighting off waves of AI-controlled Helghast attackers as they try to establish a communications Uplink to the VSA headquarters. Players can take on the role of Assault, Marksman, Medic or Tactician, using each class to its full potential in order to remain alive.

Four maps are offered at launch with additional free maps promised for the future.

The standalone version is fully compatible with the existing expansion pack version.
