A Public Beta Trial for Killzone 3 will begin on October 25, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced.
Fans will have their chance to sample the multiplayer mode for Killzone 3, including the all-new Operations game type, party system, and jetpack and exoskeleton vehicles.
Access to the beta will be granted only to PlayStation Plus subscribers, with paying members required to download the exclusive Killzone 3 XMB Theme from the PlayStation Plus section of the PlayStation Store on October 14. The first 10,000 to download the theme will be sent an access key on October 25.
European gamers should think themselves lucky as Killzone fans in North America have only 5,000 beta places to fight over.
The decision to provide beta access to PS Plus subscribers will no doubt help drive increased numbers for the premium service, though Sony’s admission that it can’t provide access to all subscribers could leave a sour taste in the mouths of those who miss out.
