July 2010 NPDs: StarCraft II sold 712,000 copies

According to sales data released by the NPD Group, Activision Blizzard’s StarCraft II was the best-selling video game in the US for the July period (July 4 through July 31, 2010), shifting 721,000 units at retail.

The PC exclusive RTS beat the likes of NCAA 11 (692,000 copies on PS3 and Xbox 360 combined) and Crackdown 2 (208,800 copies).

It was another decent performance by Super Mario Galaxy 2 with 193,000 copies sold, while Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 managed 401,000 copies across all formats.
