Superstar rapper Jay-Z is heavily involved in the marketing for Activision’s DJ Hero, with himself and Eminem each including a compilation of tracks on a special 2-disc set found only in the very bling DJ Hero: Renegade Edition. But why did the respected rapper get involved in a video game?

“Immediately, of course, with the success of Guitar Hero, it piqued my interest,” Jay-Z told MTV. “Then, you know, on top of that, it was something from the hip hop culture, so any time, you know, I can expand the genre and introduce it to new audiences and widen it. You know, the reach of what hip hop can do, you know, I’m interested in that.”

DJ Hero is out October 30 for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. Look out for our review soon.
