Japan’s Ministry of Education and Science has seen it fit to award Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto at its Art Of Encouragment ceremony.

The annual event was originally scheduled for March 17th, but postponed due to the Japanese earthquake disaster.

Gamekyo claim that the industry veteran was ‘very touched’ by the ceremony.

Miyamoto is rumoured to be hard at work on a new Pikmin game.
