Microsoft could be working on a new game in the Motocross Madness series, having filed a trademark for a game called Avatar Motocross Madness.

The trademark, spotted by Fusible, suggests the yet to be confirmed game makes use of the Xbox 360 Avatars, putting players into the driver’s seat.

Motocross Madness first hit the PC back in 1998 and was compatible with the then incredibly advanced Microsoft Freestyle Pro motion controller.

Considering the less than stellar sales of THQ’s MX vs ATV series, which ended in the closure of Rainbow Studios, bringing back Motocross Madness as a full retail release would seem like an odd move – an XBLA game doesn’t seem out of the question though.
