Capcom has sparked speculation that it is working on a new game in the Darkstalkers fighting franchise, following the registration of a new Darkstalkers trademark with the European Union trademarks office.
Last year Capcom’s fighting game producer Yoshinori Ono said he had received 100,000 requests from fans asking for a new Darkstalkers game, but nothing official regarding a new title has ever come from the publisher’s mouth.
While we haven’t seen any new games in the series since 2004’s Darkstalkers Chronicle on PSP, the series has been showing its face via the PSN release of Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors and the appearance of Felicia, Morrigan and Hsien-Ko in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
