According to a report on GameSpot Atari has confirmed a PSP version of Driver: Parallel Lines is in development at Sumo Digital. Sumo has already proven itself to be very able with the PSP, having worked on the PSP versions of Virtua Tennis and TOCA Race Driver 2. The developer is of course also responsible for OutRun 2 on the Xbox and the upcoming OutRun 2006.

However, this morning EuroGamer is reporting that news of a PSP version is false, with an Atari spokesperson telling the gaming website that “Parallel Lines will not come on PSP.“

The PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of Driver: Parallel Lines are both expected in the first quarter of 2006, but as yet it is unclear if a PSP version is in fact on the way. We’ll keep you updated.
