Robert Balousek, a software developer, has created PSPIRC. IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a common way for people to chat while online and has been around for years. Robert only needed 24 hours to get PSPIRC up and running and 100,000 people have apparently already visited the IRC client.

Robert talked about how he came up with the idea for PSPIRC in an email interview.

“I was on IRC, and someone mentioned how cool it would be to use their PSP on Wi-Fi at Starbucks to talk to people over IRC. I said, ‘I can do that’, so I began working on it immediately,” said Robert.

While we await the next innovative use of the PSP you can check out Robert’s IRC client on the official website.
