Intel has licensed two new technologies from UK based company Imagination Technologies.

The 2 technologies are a fully programmable graphics chip codenamed Eurasia and a video processing IP family. Eurasia offers advanced shading and will work in mobile devices as well as car navigation and entertainment systems. Eurasia is not yet available and there is no word on what Intel is being charged for the licences.

Intel also currently licences Imagination Technology’s Power VR MBX mobile graphics core. Imagination has said Eurasia chips will not replace the MBX but would exist together.
