The PlayStation exclusive Spider-Man game by Insomniac Games will be out later this year — at least, that’s according to Ryan Penagos, Marvel’s VP and executive editor of Marvel Digital Media.

Although there’s been no official release date from Marvel, Sony or Insomniac, Penagos was heard confirming 2017 for the Spider-Man game on a live stream. This was helpfully captured by Redditor GamingSince95.

In the stream, Penagos references the PS4 exclusive game, saying there’s ‘[…]more on the horizon for 2017, like Spider-man coming to PlayStation 4[…]’

This is still officially unconfirmed by all of the parties involved, so maybe hold off on buying your ticket for the hype train just yet.

Insomniac’s Spider-Man was initially announced at E3 last year. Insomniac also revealed that the trailer was in-engine gameplay, rather than a pre-rendered cutscene. And on a standard PS4 to boot. A boot that sticks on walls, obviously.
