Injustice 2 will launch for PS4 and Xbox One on May 16, NetherRealm Studios creative director and Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has revealed on Twitter.

The May 16 release date confirmation follows shortly after rumours spread of a March 28 launch thanks to an Xbox Live Rewards listing.
Picking up after events of Injustice: Gods Among Us, Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman’s regime.
The game promises to feature the biggest DC roster ever in a fighting game, including Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Aquaman, Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd, Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn.
Battles will be staged in large iconic arenas including Metropolis, Gotham City and Atlantis.
