Infinity Blade has made an infinite sack of cash for Epic Games, the publisher has revealed.

Alright, that’s not quite true – but it’s still done rather well, with the franchise netting $30m in just over 12 months.

The first entry in the series, developed by Epic’s Chair Entertainment, has made $23m since its launch in December 2010. Infinity Blade II has made $5m so far, with another $2m stemming from sales of the digital novella and soundtrack, along with income from the coin-op version.

“The success of the Infinity Blade franchise is testament to our talented team who is devoted to making games we want to play, all while using Unreal Engine technology to redefine what is expected from games on iOS devices,” said Epic president Mike Capps.

“We have so much more in store for players, and will continue to make great content for Apple’s evolving platforms.”
