New challenges await those participating in the Scorched Earth event for Hunt: Showdown 1896. The event will introduce Hunters to a new Wild Target along with additional Pacts and items. Scorched Earth takes place in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, giving the game a refreshing yet equally terrifying change of scenery.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 Scorched Earth release date
This event for the first-person shooter goes live on August 15, 2024. Servers will be back up at 9pm BST after 48 hours of scheduled maintenance. The start of Scorched Earth coincides with the Hunt: Showdown 1896 release date.
A major part of this update is the massive overhaul being done to the game’s graphics and overall performance so expect long queue times and possibly some bugs here and there after logging in.
Wild Target – Hellborn
Keeping in line with an event titled Scorched Earth, you will encounter a fiery new threat called the Hellborn. These creatures are found lurking around Mammon’s Gulch, ready to burn down anyone foolish enough to cross paths with them.
If you find yourself face-to-face with one of these blazing monsters, you better find a way to deal with it quick since their howls can attract other Hellborn.
Event Pacts
Three different Pacts will make their presence felt during the Scorched Earth event and you’ll have to choose which one to side with. Each Pact will grant you a unique set of traits so be sure to choose the best one suited for your playstyle.
The Wilderness Pact traits
- Surefoot – Sprint while using a First Aid Kit or with primed throwables
- Beastface – Breaking branches and triggering animals can be avoided
- Frontiersman – The first 30 Event Points collected for every mission will give you an extra Pledge Mark
The Lawful Pact traits
- Peacekeeper – Looting a dead Hunter will an empty Health Chunk
- Packmule – Looting dead Hunters will yield extra ammo
- Vigilant – Dark Sight range is doubled
The Demented Pact traits
- Berserker – Increase melee damage
- Adrenaline – Falling to critical health will grant a 25% speed boost for 20 seconds
- Ghoul – Dealing damage to a Boss Target or Wild Target will restore health
New weapons and items
Scorched Earth will also include some new weapons and items to help you explore the depths of Mammon’s Gulch. During this Hunt: Showdown 1896 event, you’ll be able to get your hands on the 1865 Carbine, the Infantry 73L rifle, bear traps, and a Crossbow Deadeye scoped variant.
Use these items to your advantage and you’ll be able to rack up Event Pledge Marks for additional boons and rewards.
