A new Marvel Rivals bug has been discovered following the massive launch of Season 1. While player counts skyrocket amidst the release of Mr Fantastic and Invisible Woman, the game is actually punishing players for having better performance than others.
Previously, Marvel Rivals was found to have a bug that punished players with lower framerates. However, as that bug has been patched out, a new issue is causing the opposite to happen.
Marvel Rivals high FPS bug
Discovered by players after the release of Season 1, the current version of Marvel Rivals has a nasty glitch that causes players with a higher framerate to also suffer a high ping.

Players who have their framerate uncapped or run on high refresh-rate monitors will have a higher ping than players with a capped framerate. This means that players with better performance will end up with more lag than their competitors.
If players want to have a lower ping they can cap their framerate all the way down to 30fps. However, this means that the game’s performance will be significantly lower which most players will not like.
Furthermore, this issue is infinitely repeatable, at least on PC. Any player with the performance headroom to get high framerates will be able to notice that their ping does jump by a significant margin.
However, it’s worth noting that the Marvel Rivals ping issue isn’t that bad. Players with framerates in the hundreds should still be under 100 ping with a decent internet connection. On the other hand, gamers in high ping areas — for example, Australia — will have their online performance worsened by having good hardware.
