With just hours to go until the Guild Wars 2 gates are opened, NCSoft has enabled account linking, letting players link their Guild Wars account with their Guild Wars 2 account.
Players who link their account – and own a copy of Guild Wars and the Eye of the North expansion – will be given access to the Hall of Monuments, an area which lets them accumulate points and earn rewards.
Players will also be able to transfer their existing Guild Wars character name to their Guild Wars 2 character.
To link accounts, just follow the instructions below:
- Sign in to your Guild Wars 2 account at https://account.guildwars2.com.
- Click Link Accounts on the left-hand side.
- Enter your original Guild Wars account name and password exactly as you would if you were logging in.
- Click the Link Account button.
- Click OK.
Be aware that once you link your Guild Wars account to Guild Wars 2, it cannot be unlinked.
Guild Wars 2’s head start servers go live at 8am tomorrow, August 25 to pre-order customers. The game goes on general sale next Tuesday, August 28.
