Hori will release an officially licensed racing wheel for Mario Kart 7 on Nintendo 3DS, according to a listing on Amazon.

Nintendo released a wheel for Mario Kart Wii, which worked well for those gamers wanting a more casual experience, but exactly how a wheel for 3DS will work remains unclear.

The listing on Amazon states that the wheel will feel like the real thing, complete with large L and R buttons for improved control and a form factor enabling increased grip.

The wheel will be released in Japan on December 1 alongside the game.

There's currently no word on if the wheel will be released outside of Japan. Chances are the wheel will be more of a gimmick than a gameplay enhancing tool anyway.
