Hitman Absolution will feature performance capture technology used by James Cameron in 2009’s hit 3D film Avatar.
Square Enix has cast Hollywood actors Keith Carridine and Marsha Thomason to play villain Blake Dexter and as Agent 47’s handler Diana Burnwood, respectively.
This will be the first time the developer has worked with Hollywood actors in such a way.
Absolution once again follows Agent 47, who now finds himself at the centre of a dark conspiracy against him.
Set for release in 2012, Absolution is the fifth game in the Hitman franchise, following Blood Money which has shipped 2.1 million copies worldwide.
IO Interactive’s game director, Tore Blystad, said this game will focus on human emotion more than any of the previous games in the series have so it will be interesting to see what kind of effect performance capture has on the game.
