Konami of Europe has announced that Thierry Henry will be the face of Pro Evolution Soccer for the second year in the row. Henry will appear on all the packaging for all the versions of Pro Evo 5. What isn’t clear is if Mr. Wenger will be receiving more phone calls from his striker about a sudden illness.

I have been playing Pro Evolution Soccer games for over ten years now,” commented Henry. “It was great to be the face of such a realistic and engrossing football title, so I was delighted to return for the newest version. I look forward to being closely involved with the creation and promotion of what promises to be a stunning game.”

We have a vision of football and how it should be interpreted as a video game,” commented Martin Schneider, European Marketing & PR Director for Konami of Europe. “This vision extends from the talented development team through to everyone involved with Pro Evolution Soccer 5 – and we are delighted that a player of Thierry Henry’s calibre buys into our ideas and enthusiasm, and are extremely pleased to have him on board for a second year. Henry shares our ideas of how we can make Pro Evolution Soccer 5 an entertaining and engrossing simulation of the most popular sport in Europe, and we look forward to working closely with this football legend.”

Expect impressions of Winning Eleven 9 (The Japanese version of the game) this August. The Japanese game will give us a good idea of what to expect from the European release.
