Superman actor Henry Cavill has said he's up for playing Geralt in Netflix's upcoming The Witcher series.

Speaking with IGN, Cavill, who is currently starring alongside Tom Cruise in the new Mission: Impossible film, was pretty clear about his desire to step into the boots of the White Wolf when asked about the role.

'Absolutely. Yeah, that would be an amazing role,' he replied.

Well, at least Cavill is sporting a moustache now, so half the job is done; he just needs to grow a full beard to complete the look.

Pleasingly, Cavill is a gamer too. He's already admitted to being a fan of World of Warcraft and Skyrim, and was so busy playing the former that he ignored a call from Zach Snyder to inform him he had landed the role of Superman in Man of Steel.

More importantly though, he's played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt multiple times and is a massive fan.

'The Witcher 3. I just replayed all the way through,' he said. 'Love that game. Really good game.'

Netflix's The Witcher series is slowly making progress and is expected to air in 2020.
