Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has confirmed that the highly anticipated Heavenly Sword will be released across the UK on September 14, followed by the rest of Europe on September 19.

The game sees players taking control of Nariko, a young woman who uses the life sapping titular sword to gain vengeance for the demise of her father’s clan.

The game’s been compared quite heavily to God of War, but there’s certainly lots to differentiate the two. Expect a definitive verdict from Pro-G as to whether it’s a God of War beater around the time of its release.

SCEE has also confirmed that Warhawk for the PSN will be release on August 28, 2008 priced £19.99. This is to be followed by the Blu-ray retail version sometime in September. This edition will carry a retail price of £39.99 and come bundled with a Jabra Bluetooth headset.
