Heatseeker is a new aerial combat title from IR Gurus, the development studio who brought us the above average Heroes of the Pacific. The game is said to focus on the dogfighting experience, putting the player in control of real life planes such as the F-22 Raptor, F-15 Eagle, F35 Lightning II and Russian SU-47 Berkut.

You’ll be flying and shooting at stuff over the US, Caribbean, Antarctica and the Far East, and the game engine is an advanced version of that used for Heroes of the Pacific so should look pretty smart. As well as coming to the PlayStation 2, the game is also on the way to the PSP and the Wii, which obviously brings some new control challenges to the team at IR Gurus.

Heatseeker is locked on for release in Q1 2007.
