Polish retailer Media Markt seemingly confirmed October 3 as the release date for Red Dead Redemption 2, before adjusting the date back to a placeholder.
Polish site CD-Action contacted the retailer for clarification on the October 3 date, and was told the information had come direct from its distributor.
However, soon after the news was posted Media Markt got in touch with CD-Action with an update that the date had in fact not come from the distributor, putting the blame on a Media Markt employee who was mistaken.
So, has Media Markt simply got its wires crossed, or did it have release date confirmation for Red Dead Redemption 2 and was later told to shut the story down?
All we know is that Red Dead 2 will launch this autumn for PS4 and Xbox One.
