Rock Band developer Harmonix has denied it’s working on a new version of its Rock Band franchise based on legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix, but has revealed more of his music could be heading to the Rock Band platform in the future.
Rumours began to spread based on an LA Times article which indicated Hendrix’s sister Janie had stated a Rock Band game would be released before the year is out. However, according to an MTV/Harmonix rep who spoke to Kotaku, no such standalone title is in development.
The rep did offer some positives for Hendrix fans, though.
“While we have not made any official announcements regarding Jimi Hendrix and Rock Band, we are excited to say that we are in discussions to bring more of his music to our platform,” said the rep. “Stay tuned.”
