Pyramind Studios, who is partnering with Microsoft’s 343 Industries, has described its work on remaking the Halo soundtrack for this November’s Halo: CE Anniversary as a “huge undertaking”.
Pyramind Studios will remake the original game soundtrack note for note using the Skywalker Symphony Orchestra and the Chanticleer vocal ensemble.
“It was a huge undertaking to transcribe, orchestrate, and produce every note from the original game soundtrack files,” Paul Lipson, Pyramind Studios COO/audio director told Game Informer. “Our team approached every aspect of the music with an immense amount of skill and care, keeping the core Halo sound while updating the production to today’s highest standards.”
Pyramind Studios has worked on many games in the past, including inFamous 2, Halo, BioShock 2, God of War and God of War II.
Back at E3, we were told that despite offering the ability to switch between original and new visuals, gamers won’t be able to switch to the original audio – it’s the new soundtrack only.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition will be released November 15, 2011.
